It’s a VCA-style compressor, making it incredibly clean and precise, as well as fast and responsive. This allows for versatility and can easily be used on any kind of audio signal: drums, guitar, vocals, etc.
What is Soft Compressor?
Input gain: the level of audio signal going into the compressor
Threshold: the level in dB below 0 at which the compressor starts reacting
Ratio: the amount of gain reduction (4:1 ratio = for every 4dB of volume only 1dB passes through = 3dB gain reduction)
Makeup: recovers the volume lost during compression
Attack: the number in ms at which the compressor starts reacting after hitting the threshold
Release: the number in ms at which the compressor “lets go” after compressing
Trim: the level off audio signal going out of the compressor
What controls does if offer?
Currently compatible with VST3 and AU plugin libraries (Logic, Ableton, Fl Studio, Cubase) on Mac OSX
Not yet compatible with Windows or AAX (Pro Tools), but both versions to be announced soon
